The Illiad on steroids. You'll enjoy this film massively even if you are not aware oh Homer and his travails.
I've always been a huge fan of Greek mythology and all of its surprisingly human gods; and in that sense, Wrath more than delivers. Although a departure from true mythology and a completely new story, even for Perseus, [whose original story only goes as far as halfway through the Clash of the Titans (2010) & (1981)].
The acting was superb. But then again, you can expect nothing less in the hands of Ralph Fiennes, Liam Neeson and Bill Nighy, who as a side note, does a phenomenal job playing crazy.
The complete delivery of the film was well done; camerawork, cinematography, sound design, et al. Amazingly, even the 3D was delivered with exquisite precision that I even found myself not paying attention to the film at one point, and dodging what I thought was a real object hurling towards me.
Thankfully though, the stereoscopic attributes of the film where rarely outward, often presenting themselves in subtle ways, which speaks to the underrated maturity of present-day 3D cinema.
As a complete package, the film is worth more than a shot, specially if you enjoy Sand and Sandal flicks.
